Rasuwa Flood: NAIMA Voices Support for Affected Communities

The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has expressed support for communities affected by a severe flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.

The flood has caused widespread damage in Timure, Syafrubesi and the Rasuwagadhi area, with preliminary reports indicating significant losses to infrastructure and public and private property.

Roads and bridges, electricity and communication infrastructure, vehicles, market areas and hydropower projects have reportedly been affected. Government and security facilities in the area have also sustained damage, including the Area Police Office in Timure, Syafrubesi Police Post and Rasuwagadhi Police Post.

The full extent of the damage is yet to be established, with authorities continuing assessment and rescue efforts. NAIMA said the human, physical and economic losses could be higher as further details emerge.

The association expressed solidarity with affected residents, families, businesses, security personnel and local communities, while commending the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, local administration and other rescue personnel involved in search, rescue and relief operations.

NAIMA has also urged residents in areas connected to the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan, to remain alert and follow safety instructions issued by the authorities.

The association said it is prepared to coordinate with government and security agencies in relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the disaster.
